CREATE UK is a charity and social enterprise that was set up in 1995 and we have four key aims:
RE-USE – To refurbish products where possible and put them back into the market.
RECYCLING – To appropriately recycle returned, unwanted or ‘end of life’ products.
EMPLOYMENT – To provide work for long term unemployed disadvantaged adults.
SALES – To provide affordable household white goods to low income households.
CREATE UK operates a robust re-use system that has been tried and tested since 1995, and provides a fully auditable cradle to grave process.
This process has been inspected by the Environment Agency who are satisfied with the quality of our re-use control system and have issued us with a T11 exemption certificate for the re-use of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE).
CREATE takes great care to utilise the potential re-use of every appliance. However some appliances for whatever reason are beyond even our re-use capabilities, this is usually because of prohibitive costs, no resale potential or safety issues.
When we have no choice than to scrap an appliance we attempt to recover as much as we can, before the appliance is sent for appropriate environmental recycling and recovery within the UK.
